Frequently Asked Questions

WHERE CAN I SEE YOUR WORK IN PERSON?

Yes! Make an appointment with me via my contact page or visit one of the three Open Studios a year. You can even visit anonymously if you’re shy. I do not have a regular dealer.

CAN I SEE A SPECIFIC PAINTING IN PERSON?

Yes! But please let me know which in advance. I may have to move items to extract it from my rack, or find it, if it is smaller.

DO YOU GIVE DISCOUNTS?

Yes, I do. But never on recent work. Any work that is over ten years old becomes in danger of being painted over, so I’d much rather get it in a good home.

DO YOU CHARGE SALES TAX?

Yes, of course. I charge it and send it into the City/State.

DO YOU DELIVER?

I do like to deliver purchases of my art if they aren’t too far away. That way I can make sure the art arrives safely. I can even help you hang it, or try it in various locations.

DO YOU SHIP?

Yes. Keep in mind, that it can be expensive to ship larger works. I usually use FedEx or an art shipper.

CAN I TRY ART OUT IN MY HOME?

Yes, I am happy to bring items over for you to see how they work in your space. Generally, I don’t rent out paintings or leave them without payment.

CAN I ORDER ANY IMAGE ON A MUG OR PRINT?

Technically, yes! I am still trying to figure out how to do this online but I can use a local provider too. Let me know what size you will like. The art may or may not match the aspect ratio (dimensions) of your measurement. Please let me know what you need.

DO YOU DO COMMISSIONS?

Yes, I do. I have done people and lots of pets in various media. Let’s talk about what you need and size, style, deadline, etc. I can make recommendations and give you some estimates.

DO YOU GIVE CLASSES?

Not lately, but I have done many years of teaching. I don’t expect students’ work to look like mine. I don’t have a formula. I have learned a few tricks. Let’s talk about it.

DO YOU LECTURE?

Yes.

WHAT ABOUT FRAMING?

If the work has a frame, it is included in the price. If not, I can often add something. I can order frames but generally charge you at cost. I am not a good carpenter but do add wood slating on occasion. Let’s talk about what you need.

CAN YOU MAT PRINTS?

I would like to, but cannot do it.

DO YOU USE ARCHIVAL MATERIALS?

Yes!

WHERE WOULD I PUT YOUR ART? IS IT JUST FOR KIDS’ ROOMS?

Yes, for older kids. My still life paintings look great in vegetarians’ dining rooms, in entry ways, and office zoom walls. My tall series was often put in stairways. I hope you put them somewhere where they are safe for posterity. Not too close to natural light, in a damp area like a bathroom or porch.

I HAVE ART BY YOU AND IT’S NOT ON YOUR WEBSITE.

I wanted to post everything but can’t. You may have one of my best ones but I may only have an image of it on slides. Send me a photo!
